Date: 2/19/2009Trail Description: Bridal Veil Falls (Several Approaches)Author: Lynn HartonVia Conservation Road • Right 0.1 miles on Fawn Lake Road (#22). • Left on Conservation Road (#18) for 1.48 miles past the airstrip. • Left on Bridal Veil Falls Road (#6) 0.56 miles to the base of the lower Bridal Veil Falls. Total distance is 2.14 miles. Side Trip to Lake Julia • From Conservation Road at the south end of the airstrip, go down Camp Summit Road (#12) 0.55 miles. • Left on Lake Julia Road (#46) 0.3 miles. Ranger Station is on the right. Back to a right on Conservation Road. This makes the total distance to the falls of 2.63 miles. Via Fawn Lake And Airstrip Trail • Left on Fawn Lake Road (#22) 0.85 miles. • Straight, left, on Conservation Road for 0.17 miles. • Left on Airstrip Trail 1.01 miles • Left on Shelter Rock Trail (#73) 0.2 miles. • Right on Corn Mill Shoals Trail (#19) 0.49 miles to the base of the Bridal Veil Falls. Total distance is 2.73 miles. Via Fawn Lake and Laurel Ridge Trail • Left on the Fawn Lake Road (#22) 0.76 miles. • Left before the power line on Mine Mountain Trail (#55) 0.1 miles. • Right on Laurel Ridge Trail (#48) 0.85 miles. • Right on Corn Mill Shoals Trail (#19) 0.99 miles. Total distance is 2.72 miles. Via Reasonover Creek Trail and Lake Julia • Right 0.1 miles on Fawn Lake Road. • Straight 3.27 miles on the Reasonover Creek Trail (#64) to Lake Julia. • Left on Lake Julia Road (#46) 0.4 miles. Ranger Station is on the right. • Right on Conservation Road (#18) for 0.17 miles. • Left on Bridal Veil Falls Road (#6) 0.56 miles. Total distance to the falls is 4.5 miles. Upper Bridal Veil Falls The rocks between the lower cascade and the upper falls are extremely slick when wet. If the rocks are not wet, one can walk up the dry rocks for a closer view of the falls. If rocks are wet next to the base, one can take the path through the woods to the far side. One can also view the upper falls from the viewing platform.
